About Maitland High School's Student Representative Council

The SRC student body is formed to contribute to decisions that affect them as students and that are important to the school.

It is vital that students have an active role in decisions that help their school in order to reflect the core values of NSW public schools, most notably respect, responsibility, co-operation, participation and democracy. Maitland High Schools SRC attend weekly meetings to brainstorm ideas or to pass on ideas from other students for fundraising for resources for the school or fundraise for local- national- and global charities.

Raising funds for improvement of facilities and and donations to charity are not the SRC's main objective, even though these are very worthwhile causes. The focus is on student participation, developing leadership skills and decision making. The SRC shares in making important decision with the Executive, teachers and the community. Students care about their school and what happens to it.

Our SRC welcomes anyone to their meetings, held every Monday at lunch in Room 25. Come along and have your voice heard!
